After twenty-five years in the Communications industry, in sales, engineering and public speaking, Steve bought his retirement home on the West Branch of the Ausable River in Wilmington in 2000. An outdoor enthusiast, he realized he belonged in the high peaks full time, and by 2002 had acquired other properties, and built an internet-based business, renting the properties on a nightly and weekly basis, to Adirondack vacationers. Showing this path to others was the natural next step, and Steve now specializes in locating investment homes for clients. Mountain View Lodge and Pine Hill Cabin, for example, are two Adirondack Holiday vacation rental properties, which Steve located for investor/owner clients. As a life-long do-it-yourselfer, he identifies those homes, which can be tweaked and modified into self sufficiency, whether for the serious real estate investor, or the Adirondack lover, who wants to be able to afford his own special slice of paradise. Since most of our home buyers do not live in the Adirondacks, time well spent while visiting and viewing prospective homes in the area is a critical factor for a successful investment. MLS listings are informative, but don't really give the investor a real feel for the "soul" of a home. Steve uses MLS to help the investor sift through the available properties, and by personally visiting and extensively photographing each prospective house prior to the client's visit, provides the client with a rich, detailed profile of each prospective home, and how it meets the client's dreams and requirements. Narrowing the base of prospects to a few likely candidates, ensures that the client's visit to the Adirondacks will be an enjoyable and fruitful experience. In their spare time, Steve and Wendy Hall love to hike and snowshoe with their dogs, and run the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge & Rehabilitation Center on their property near Whiteface Mountain on the West Branch of the Ausable River.
