 Great Bear Camp
If you are a serious outdoor sportsman or guide, Great Bear Camp, in the heart of the Adirondack wilderness, is the camp for you and your friends. Bordering 8,000 acres of  trail-networked state land, and with direct access to fishing and snowmobiling, Great Bear Camp is nestled in the woods on 2.2 acres, 100 yards off Route 3 between Cranberry Lake and Sevey Corners. The two story cabin at Great Bear camp features all the comforts of home, with three bedrooms combining single and bunk beds to accomodate up to ten guests.

The first floor features a full Bath with shower stall, as well as an open-space floor layout which combines full kitchen with dining and living areas, around a wood stove. Power to the cabin is provided by a new 5,000 watt generator featuring an indoor automatic on-off switch. The fridge, stove, water heater and heat monitor are all pilot-light, propane driven, so that they can be operational when the generator is not on. The cabin also features a well and a 1,000 gallon septic, and has hookups for a washer and dryer.

The current owner has shot New York State record black bear, as well as buck and bobcat in his back yard. In fact, the prevalence of bear in the area is such that the cabin is surrounded by a solar panel powered electric fence, which is used when the owner is not present, to keep the bears from breaking into the house! From the backyard, you can walk through the woods to great fishing on the Grasse River, and  access to State snow mobile trails is less than a half mile in both directions from the camp's driveway.

The two bay garage also features non-electric propane monitor heat, a 350 watt generator with an auto on-off switch by the door, and a spacious 12' x 27' upstairs apartment room, which could be easily finished with wood paneling, and set up as guest sleeping quarters. Total 2007 Taxes on Great Bear Camp was $1,461.15, homeowners insurance about $450. Exclusively Listed by Adirondack Holiday at $162,500.
